Kiesza

Canadian-born, Brooklyn-based pop singer Kiesza makes dance-oriented music that touches upon house music, contemporary EDM, and R&B. Given birth to in Calgary, Kiesza participated in theatre, ballet, and faucet dancing before becoming a member of the Royal Canadian Navy at 17, where she was qualified like a code breaker. At 18, Kiesza also competed in the Miss Universe Canada pageant before concentrating on a music profession. Departing the Navy, she went to Berklee University of Music in Boston on the scholarship or grant. After graduating, she relocated to NEW YORK and started carrying out her folky vocalist/songwriter compositions. Ultimately, Kiesza discovered herself attracted to dance music and started collaborating with manufacturer Rami Samir Afuni. In 2014, she released the Hideaway EP. “Hideaway” itself topped the U.K. and Scottish singles graphs upon its Apr discharge and received significant airplay in the U.S. when it had been released that July. A couple of months afterwards, Kiesza’s full-length debut, Audio of a female, arrived, mixing up her house-influenced pop with hip-hop-tinged monitors and offering cameos by Mick Jenkins and Joey Bada$$.
