Judah & the Lion

Judah & the Lion certainly are a folk-pop trio located in Nashville, Tennessee. Vocalist/guitarist Judah Akers fulfilled mandolinist Brian Macdonald and banjo participant Nate Zuercher through shared friends as well as the three started playing jointly in past due 2011. Originally aligning themselves using the Christian music picture, their debut EP, First Fruits, was a worship-themed record that combined expansive folk and bluegrass with wealthy, old-timey harmonies. A calendar year later, they came back with the even more secular-oriented and pop-leaning Special Tennessee EP, which bore even more of a resemblance towards the uplifting nu-folk of Mumford & Sons and released them in to the Best 20 from the Billboard bluegrass and folk graphs. Building on that momentum, they finally released their initial full-length record, 2014’s wistful Children NOWADAYS, which increased to number 4 on Billboard’s folk graph. Because of their follow-up, Judah & the Lion caused manufacturer Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell) to provide 2016’s Folk Hop n’ Move, an record that further combined their myriad affects from hip-hop to indie rock and roll and folk. By the finish of that calendar year, their breakout one “Take EVERYTHING Back” acquired reached number 1 on Billboard’s Choice Songs chart plus they implemented it up in Feb 2017 with “Fit and Coat.”
