Johnny & The Roccos

Originally formed in the first ’70s, Johnny & the Roccos were from the initial wave of rock & roll revivalists (predating the early-’80s movement led from the Stray Pet cats by nearly ten years), and so are perhaps the just revivalist act to ever emerge from Scotland. Longtime innovator Bob Fish continues to be with the music group right from the start, and although they are issuing albums because the 10 years they shaped (generally as limited release pressings), it is the group’s live display that has been their primary attraction. Furthermore to their personal music, Johnny & the Roccos also have supported many renowned old-time U.S. rock and roll & rollers if they tour European countries, including Billy Lee Riley, Sonny Fisher, Eddie Fontaine, Friend Knox, and Ray Campi. Although they’ve released several albums over time (including such game titles as Shakin’ AROUND, Scots within the Stones, Great Rockin’ Tonight, Tearin’ In the Boundary, Stompin’, Rock and roll n’ Roll Contact, Up the united states, FEEL JUST LIKE Rockin’, Great Scots!, and Captured Live in the Rattlesnake Saloon), the only person that remains on the net may be the 1997 compilation Bop a Dee Bop a Doo.
