John Schott

Guitarist John Schott graduated from Seattle’s Cornish University from the Arts, where he previously studied with Gary Peacock and Jerry Granelli, in 1988, using a level in structure. That season he was musical movie director for the Shakespearean creation, and collaborated using a choreographer for the dance functionality piece. In 1989, Schott transferred to Berkeley, CA, where he co-founded the group Globe Great, who released their very own album Prozac Vacation and became a favorite Bay Area music group. He remains structured out of this locale and regularly collaborates with various other creative and achieved area music artists, like clarinetist Ben Goldberg. In 1994, the NEA funded some concerts by Schott and Goldberg (where they were became a member of by saxophonist John Zorn) that highlighted the music of piano star Herbie Nichols. Both also produced the band Rubbish Genius — with bassist Trevor Dunn and drummer Kenny Wolleson — that acquired a self-titled discharge on Knitting Stock (1994), and 1999’s Ghost of Power on Songlines. Schott can be a member of the part-time task with guitarist Charlie Hunter, known as T.J. Kirk, whose second record received a 1997 Grammy nomination.
