Johann Christian Friedrich Haeffner

A singing instructor, organist, conductor and author of German delivery who settled in Stockholm by 1781. He was an body organ pupil of Vierling and a tone of voice pupil of Hiller and was trained in the custom made of Bach. In Stockholm he became the chapel organist for the German chapel, St Gertrud, as well as the movie director of performing for the Royal Opera, ultimately getting the musical movie director for the courtroom. He brought the self-discipline of performing to the University or college of Uppsala and could create his oratorio “Forsonaren pa Golgatha.” He also created the a capella design of performing, arranged for four-part male chorus, in Scandinavia. Regrettably he was terminated from his placement at St Gertrud’s, but continuing to compose sacred music and was an excellent contributor to Wallin’s hymnbook.
