Jim Colegrove

Jim Colgrove continues to be area of the music moments of at least four main cities across as much years, at least three which would probably end up being worth composing a memoir about — except that he’s mostly been thus busy building music that he’s apparently never sat right down to reveal it. Colgrove was a pal of drummer N.D. Wise in Dayton, OH when both used with a set of Boston folkies and finished up playing bass in the music group that became Bo Grumpus, which got transplanted from Beantown to NEW YORK. These were area of the past due-’60s music picture in the town, and left out one great record before a compelled name-change produced their upcoming untenable. That occurred just with time to greatly help facilitate the forming of Hill by their manufacturer, Felix Pappalardi (incidentally, offering the ubiquitous N.D. Wise…). He eventually moved back again to the folk picture, sort of, within Great Speckled Bird, and for some gigs with Todd Rundgren. Afterwards, it was back again to root base rock and roll with Sid Ruler, and to Fort Well worth, TX as well as the Juke Jumpers, performing blues. And recently his music group Lost Nation. He also offers his personal record label, Great Groove.
