Guitarist and vocalist Jesse Wadley recorded five monitors (“Alabama Jail Blues,” “St. Adam Infirmary,” and three will take of “GET IT DONE in Weldon Back yards”) for John Lomax at Bellwood Jail in Atlanta, GA, on Dec 11, 1934. Of particular curiosity is Wadley’s customized blues music, “Alabama Jail Blues,” which is apparently offhand and improvised, but sports activities a jaunty acoustic guitar line and thoroughly regarded as lyrics. Lomax got evidently asked Wadley to sing him a music that explained the way the singer finished up in jail, and “Alabama Jail Blues” was the effect. The actual fact that Wadley is at jail in Georgia as well as the music information how he finished up in jail in Alabama tips that possibly the bluesman had noticed his talk about of earlier incarcerations.
