Alongside guitarist Rock Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament was an associate of 3 of Seattle’s most famous and admired rings of recent years — Green River, Mom Love Bone tissue, and Pearl Jam. Given birth to on March 10, 1963, in Big Sandy, MT, Ament used bass as an adolescent, playing along to Clash and Law enforcement records, in addition to learning something or two from traditional rockers (Hurry, Aerosmith, etc.). After relocating to Seattle wishing to satisfy his dreams of rock and roll stardom, Ament installed with influential garage area rockers Green River (including singer Tag Arm, guitarist Steve Turner, drummer Alex Vincent, and Gossard). The medial side project’s self-titled debut was released in 1991, only a brief while before Pearl Jam’s debut record was released.
