GRP All-Star Big Band

GRP is most beneficial referred to as a label focusing on slick and accessible jazz, but, in 1992, labelheads Dave Grusin and Larry Rosen made a decision to combined a typical but star-studded big music group made up of their company’s best players. The recordings highlighted such music artists as Arturo Sandoval, Randy Brecker, Chuck Findley, Dave Grusin, Ernie W, Bob Mintzer, Dave Valentin, John Patitucci, and also Tom Scott, Eric Marienthal, Nelson Rangell, and Lee Ritenour playing straightahead graphs of jazz criteria in the 1950s and ’60s. The recordings in fact provide few surprises (apart from the actual fact that Scott and firm still remember how exactly to enjoy bop), but are exciting outings.
