Fonky Family

Also called La Fonky or la FF, the Fonky Family was a French hip-hop crew that hailed from Marseille. The group surfaced in 1994 and produced their initial appearance on polish over the 1995 Akhenaton (debut) single record. 1997 would start to see the Fonky Family members make a full-length debut of their very own with the record Si Dieu Veut. The record sold quite nicely, it went precious metal, actually, but that was tempered with the departure of founding member Karima immediately after. While it will be a while before la FF would strike the French graphs again, these were barely tranquil. Two live EPs had been released in 1999 and 2000, aswell as making several appearances with various other French hip-hop giants. Artwork de Rue, Fonky Family’s second record finally strike shops in 2001. The group had taken a break following the sophomore discharge, to focus generally on single function, but reconvened in 2006 because of their third long-player discharge, Marginal Musique. The record shown the French record buying public’s hankering for just a little la FF, since it debuted over the graphs at number 1.
