LA indie pop quintet Fonda was shaped in 1994 by singer/keyboardist Emily Make and singer/guitarist David Klotz; with the help of drummer Aaron Ryder, the group performed its first live times at area night clubs like Spaceland and Cafe Bleu, and in 1998 released their debut EP Music for Newbies at the top Quality label, using the slice “Crazy Like” learning to be a staple on L.A. radio train station KROQ. Ex-Mighty Lemon Drops guitarist Dave Newton and bassist Lora Paelicke authorized on for Fonda’s 1st full-length work, 1999’s The Unseen Girl. 2 yrs afterwards, their follow-up The Unusual as well as the Familiar arrived.
