Fernando Merlino

Experienced pianist/arranger/composer Fernando Merlino could have desired to devote himself exclusively to jazz/instrumental music — he has already established a nomination for the Clear Awards as the very best Instrumental Compact disc of the entire year — but like a great many other instrumentalists, the uninviting Brazilian marketplace for those designs brought him to utilize singers. Merlino began as a specialist playing on the Orquestra perform Maestro Cipó and in Chiquinho perform Acordeon’s group. Having proved helpful being a composer/arranger for Globo Systems, he joined up with Emílio Santiago’s assisting music group in 1982.
