Ethel Levey

b. Ethelia Fowler, 22 November 1880, SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, California, USA, d. 27 Feb 1955, NEW YORK, NY, USA. An excellent dancer and vocalist, Levey made an appearance in burlesque theatres and on the vaudeville circuit for a few years gaining moderate success. During this time period of her profession, she fulfilled fellow vaudevillian George M. Cohan plus they had been wedded in 1900. As Cohan’s superstar begun to rise therefore do Levey’s and she made an appearance in starring assignments in a number of of his Broadway musical comedies, like the Governor’s Kid (1901), Small Johnny Jones (1904) and George Washington Jr. (1906). Shortly following this, Levey and Cohan divorced and proceeded to go their different professional methods.
