En certainly are a San Francisco-based experimental ambient duo comprising Maxwell August Croy (who co-founded the main Strata label with Jefre Cantu-Ledesma) and Adam Devane. The duo develop their warm, reflective compositions with a number of digital and acoustic equipment, including guitars, pianos, organs, tapes, gadget instruments, and pc digesting. Their recordings are wealthy and tuneful, even though they’re generally tranquil and tranquil, they occasionally come with an undercurrent of loud distortion. The duo started recording together in ’09 2009, and began executing around California this year 2010. By the finish of the entire year, their debut full-length, The Absent Coastline, appeared on Main Strata. The duo performed gigs in Portland and Brooklyn in 2011, and their sophomore work, Already Eliminated, was released by Alex Cobb’s Learners of Decay label in 2012. Rigtht after its discharge, En toured Japan with Grouper and Cuushe. Pursuing even more gigs along the UNITED STATES West Coastline with performers including Illuha and Marcus Fischer, En’s divide cassette with Jefre Cantu-Ledesma made an appearance on Constellation Tatsu close to the end of 2012. After adding “Light” to Ghostly International’s SMM: Opiate compilation in 2013, En performed some more gigs and done their third record. The dual LP Town of Brides premiered by Learners of Decay close to the end of 2015, and was followed with the self-released digital EP Blue Green Orange White.
