Electropathics

Produced in 1979, as the Electropathic Battery Group, this ensemble performed concerts and made an appearance at dances as essentially a music hall group, presenting a display in costume. The initial line-up was Alan Rawlinson (b. 8 Might 1955, Scholes, Leeds, Yorkshire, Britain; trombone, trumpet, cornet, flute, sousaphone, vocals), John Gregson (electric guitar, vocals), John Lewis (clarinet, banjo, mandolin, saxophone, vocals), Moira Hanvey (vocals, whistles), Dave Hanvey (melodeon, vocals), Nick Tamblin (mouth area body organ, glockenspiel, percussion, vocals, caller), and Maggie Andrew (percussion). The group experienced several personnel changes, using the departure of Dave and Moira Hanvey, and Nick Tamblin in 1984. Jackie Rawlinson (b. 26 Might 1965, Wilmslow, Cheshire, Britain; fiddle, vocals), became a member of in 1985 with Andrew departing the line-up in 1986. The line-up forBatteries Not really Included comprised first associates Alan Rawlinson and John Gregson, plus Pierce Butler (drums, percussion, vocals), who still left by the end of 1987, Jackie Rawlinson, Howard Jones (hammer dulcimer, melodeon, anglo-concertina, electric guitar, vocals) who acquired joined up with in 1984, aswell as Keith Hancock (b. 28 Oct 1953, Audenshaw, Lancashire, Britain; melodeon, hammer dulcimer, vocals). Even more changes occurred by adding Dave Manley (b. 20 Feb 1957, Warwickshire, Britain; flute, saxophone, vocals), and Tim Veitch (b. 29 Might 1962; cello, vocals) who both became a member of in 1988, while Hancock still left the same 12 months to pursue a single profession. Tim Kenney (b. 15 August 1960; acoustic guitar, vocals) joined up with early in 1989. The newest addition, Chris Bartram (b. 25 Dec 1946, Yorkshire, Britain; percussion, vocals), became a member of in 1991. The group, having transformed its name towards the Electropathics, and with Alan Rawlinson the just surviving initial member, continuing until 1994 if they made a decision to disband while still on a higher. However, they are doing occasionally re-form for any reunion gig.
