Eddie Shaw & the Wolf Gang

b. 20 March 1937, Benoit, Mississippi, USA. Shaw was raised in neighbouring Greenville and discovered to try out clarinet and trombone before selecting the saxophone. He used local jump-blues rings (including one led by Ike Turner) and sat along with Muddy Waters in 1957. Waters employed him instantly and he transferred to Chicago. Once there he connected with Howlin’ Wolf and Magic Sam, and documented with both. He also fronted his very own music group on vocals and saxophone. Eddie also ran the 1815 Membership in Chicago, published and arranged tunes for other performers, learned to try out blues harmonica, and it has documented as band innovator for Mac pc Simmons’ label, for Alligator Information Living Chicago Blues task, as well as for the Isabel and Rooster businesses. His child Eddie ‘Vaan’ Shaw is definitely an associate of his music group, the Wolf Gang.
