Doug Carn

Keyboards, oboe, reeds, vocals, composer. Though a flexible musician and expressive pianist, Carn accomplished even more notoriety in 70s for composing lyrics to traditional jazz anthems. Carn started key pad lessons as a kid and was shortly playing piano and body organ, plus alto sax. He examined oboe and structure at Jacksonville School from 1965 to 1967, after that completed his education at Georgia Condition University in 1969. He proved helpful briefly with Lou Donaldson, Stanley Turrentine and Irene Reid, after that became well-known in middle-’70s with albums for Dark Jazz label. He penned lyrics for such music as “Baby Eye,” “Adams Apple” and “Revelation.” His wife at that time, Jean Carn afterwards became R&B superstar as single action; she transformed name spelling to Carne. Carn ultimately do two albums with Globe, Wind And Open fire but had not been as successful dealing with them mainly because Ramsey Lewis.
