Derrik Jordan

Vocalist/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Derrik Jordan grew up in Short Hillsides, NJ, and had a music epiphany when he initial heard the Beatles in age 9. He began acquiring acoustic guitar lessons and created his first music group at 13. By age 15 he was composing tunes, and he quickly added piano and violin towards the list of tools he performed. He majored in music at Bennington University, and fell deeply in love with Vermont, where he ultimately resolved. But he resided in NEW YORK for 3 years, during which period he performed in rings and became an effective writer of industrial jingles. Like a program musician and maker, he done albums by Will Ackerman, Lisa McCormick, Lisa Sokolov, Tom Neilson, Organic Background, Simba, Gary Rosen, Ruler Happy, and Crimson Thunder Cloud. His tunes have been documented from the Stockwell Brothers, Angela Bofill, the Embers, O.C. Smith, Lisa Molina, and Urban Talk. Jordan released his initial solo album, Planning on a Magic, on Orchard Information in March 2000. Then produced an instrumental record, Superstring Theory — Incredible Duets and Improvisations. Another vocal record, Touch the planet earth, specialized in environmental concerns, implemented in 2002 in the Worldsoul label.
