Vocalist, songwriter, and worship innovator Derek Johnson is a separate artist having a bent toward faith-based pop music. An Indiana indigenous, Johnson was raised hearing his parents’ ’60s and ’70s music collection. Primarily, he began playing drums, but by age group 11 had turned to acoustic guitar as his major device. In 2007, Johnson started attending ministry college at Bethel Cathedral in Redding, California. While there, he became associated with the worship group and started leading pupil worship sessions. Ultimately, he also started dealing with the Jesus Lifestyle youngsters outreach ministry, which is situated out of Bethel Cathedral. In 2012, he made an appearance on Jesus Culture’s record Emerging Voices, and also other up-and-coming worship performers Mary Kat Ehrenzeller, Nate Ward, and Justin Jarvis. In 2015, Johnson shipped his debut single album, Real Like.
