Biography
New York-based jazz pianist Danny Grissett is really a native of LA who began using piano around age group five. After getting his B.A. in Music Education in the past due ’90s, Grissett continued to review jazz, getting his M.F.A. in Jazz Functionality from Cal Arts in 2000. After graduation, Grissett discovered performance opportunities through the entire Los Angeles region with such significant performers as drummer Billy Higgins, saxophonist Jackie MacLean, among others. In 2003, Grissett relocated to NEW YORK and began using a number of name music artists, including trumpeter Tom Harrell, in whose quintet he’s a normal member. Grissett released his debut single album, Guarantee, on Criss Combination in 2006. Encounters implemented in 2008. In ’09 2009, Grissett matched with trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire for the sextet time Form. Then returned to some stripped straight down trio format for 2011’s Stride. In 2015, Grissett was became a member of by saxophonist Walter Smith, III for the studio room work, The In-Between.
