Anatomy of a Ghost

Hailing from Portland (by method of Alaska), the emo/post-hardcore clothing Anatomy of the Ghost created in the next fifty percent of 2002 and quickly amassed an underground group of fans though their large Internet presence and energetic live display. Within weeks, the band’s users — vocalist John Gourley, drummer Nick Simon, bassist Zach Carothers, and guitarists Joe Simon and Dewey Halpaus — experienced signed to the neighborhood indie label Rise Information. They toured countrywide during the summer season of 2003 with Saosin and Kids PARTICULAR DATE, and later on released their debut work, Evanesce, in Oct (certified to Fearless Information). The recording garnered the group evaluations to functions like Thrice, Thursday night, and Coheed & Cambria, the final band mostly because of Gourley’s higher-pitched vocals. Anatomy of the Ghost split up in-may 2004, as the bandmembers wished to explore additional musical strategies; Gourley and Carothers quickly resurfaced in Portugal. THE PERSON. By early 2005, Anatomy experienced re-formed with programs for a fresh recording, but by midsummer, Gourley and Carothers experienced turned their interest back again to Portugal rather, liberating that group’s first recording in early 2006. Halpaus also released an archive with his fresh metal-leaning task, the Burning Space, in June 2006 through Mediaskare.
