Dan Sane

Most widely known for his function in cooperation with electric guitar partner Frank Stokes, Dan Sane was created in Michigan, Mississippi on January 24, 1904. Upon relocating to Memphis through the 1920s, he performed in the string music group led by violinist Will Batts; there Sane first started using Stokes, and both guitarists also proved helpful together in Jack port Kelly’s jug music group. When the duo produced their initial recordings for the Paramount label in 1927, that they had surfaced being among the most complementary duos in every from the blues, with Sane’s flatpicking preferably embellished by Stokes’ liquid rhythms. They shifted to Victor in 1928, but by the next year were back again on Paramount; these 1929 edges had been their last jointly, although Sane continuing executing with Stokes until the latter’s 1952 pension. Sane passed away in Memphis on Feb 18, 1956.
