Cops ‘N Robbers

Produced in Watford, Hertfordshire, England, Cops ‘N’ Robbers had been a locally well-known R&B/beat band of the mid-60s, whose live display gained many admirers. Composed of Terry Fox (body organ), Henri Harrison (drums), Brian ‘Smudger’ Smith (vocals) and Steve Smith (bass), they specialised in energised cover variations of blues and folk requirements, typified by their treatment of Bob Dylan’s ‘It’s AROUND Right now, Baby Blue’, which became their third and last solitary for Pye Information in 1965. Two earlier singles have been released, ‘St Wayne Infirmary’ and ‘Simply Keep Best On’, but non-e of these required the group in to the nationwide charts. Smith experienced right now been changed by Dane Stephens on vocals, and came back to his previous group, the Red Fairies. By 1966 Cops ‘N’ Robbers experienced disbanded, with Harrison consequently forming the brand new Vaudeville Band.
