This German organist and composer was operating in Halle and Dresden but spent significant amounts of amount of time in Stockholm using the Swedish court. Reviews reveal that he was organist, Hofkapelle and Kapellmeister at different instances in Stockholm. Ritter might have been trained or affected by Schutz and Bernhard as all signs display that he originated from this college of music artists. The vocal functions which Ritter obtained had been motets varied in type and filled up with audio. Texts had been mixed as well as the motets had been mainly arioso-like. Two key pad functions survive, and with the vocal music, indicate that Ritter broke through the custom of Schutz therefore having a direct effect on German Protestant chapel music before the age group of Bach.
