The Daredevil Christopher Wright were formed in 2004 by brothers Jon and Jason Sunde. The brothers Sunde (Jason on vocals and bass and Jon on vocals and electric guitar) were joined up with by fellow Eau Claire, Wisconsin, musician Jesse Edgington on vocals and percussion and go about formulating their particular indie sound, sketching on affects from past due-’60s United kingdom folk aswell as the Laurel Canyon folk picture. The trio self-released its self-titled debut EP in Sept of 2005, accompanied by the communal and freak folk-steeped three-song EP The East Coastline in November of 2008. The band’s debut full-length, In Deference to a Damaged Back, found its way to May of 2009 on Amble Down Information, with nine of its 11 songs combined by Bon Iver primary guy Justin Vernon. The tunes on the recording were inspired partly by Jason’s challenges with a devastating back damage. Once Jason was within the mend, the music group played often, starting displays for Bon Iver aswell as taking part in Midwestern indie event Pygmalion and documenting a Daytrotter program. The group’s second full-length recording, THE TYPE of Things, found its way to 2012.
