A high-profile manager, manufacturer, multi-instrumentalist, screenwriter, and movie director, Chris Stokes guided Immature/IMx and B2K, two of the very most successful R&B sets of the ’90s and early 2000s (respectively). He also created materials by Bell Biv DeVoe, Shanice, and Debelah Morgan, and was area of the group Wataz (which released a 1998 record, Natural Great), but he helped build something of the empire using the members from the groupings he maintained, parlaying their successes into screenwriting and directing. Home Party 4, YOU HAVE Served, and Somebody Help Me each highlighted famous brands Omarion, Marques Houston, and various other associates of Stokes’ groupings. In 2012, Stokes and Houston matched together once again for the Stokes-directed dramatic film Battlefield America about underground dance tournaments.
