Cherry Smash

Cherry Smash were formed in Gosport, Hampshire, Britain, in 1966 by John Curtis, Mick Gill, Graham Hunt, Bryan Sebastian and Tag Tuddenham. Their debut one for Track Information, 1967’s ‘Sing Tracks Of Appreciate’, was created for the music group by Mike Hugg – Sebastian’s sibling – and Mick Gill. A melodramatic, syrupy pop tune, it featured for the soundtrack to Manfred Mann’s IN THE Junction and obtained the music group some national reputation. Gill still left the group before it agreed upon to Decca Information for 1968’s ‘Goodtime Sunlight’/‘Little Old Nation Home City’, another Hugg structure. This didn’t build on the group’s preliminary impetus and after one last one, ‘Fade Away Maureen’, the group disbanded.
