Cesar Rosas

Guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Cesar Rosas is an integral person in Los Lobos. While much less prolific compared to the group of David Hidalgo and Louie Perez, his rootsy compositions, fiery acoustic guitar playing, and gritty vocals become a significant counterweight within the band’s sonic mix. Primarily operating from a blues-based basis, Rosas’ compositions for Los Lobos are the hard-rocking “Don’t Be concerned Baby” (from How Will the Wolf Survive?) and “I CANNOT Understand,” co-written with blues large Willie Dixon, which made an appearance on A NEARBY (1990). Furthermore to his part in Los Lobos, Rosas released Si Se Puede!, his debut single recording on 24/7, and in 1998 made an appearance as an associate of Los Super Seven, the Latin American supergroup. Their self-titled recording presented re-interpretations of traditional Mexican folk tunes. It was a hit as well as the music group became a touring concern. Rosas held busy, issuing Spirit Disguise for Ryko in 1999, a powerful blend of rock and roll, blues, spirit, and Latin music. He made an appearance on blues icon Child Ramos’ self-titled providing for RCA. In Oct, an awful tragedy struck Rosas’ family members. His wife Sandra vanished. Her body was discovered a year later on inside a shallow grave outdoors LA. She have been murdered. Her fifty percent- sibling Gabriel Gomez was convicted from the criminal offense. After acquiring some real-time off, Rosas healed himself by staying occupied. His touring and documenting responsibilities with Los Lobos and Los Super Seven (the last mentioned recorded two even more albums: Canto for Sony in 2001 and Noticed It in the X for Telarc in 2005) used lots of time but he also had taken on are a sideman, showing up on Rick Trevino’s Mi Kid and on Alejandro Escovedo’s conceptual function By the Hands of the daddy, and as area of the Texmaniacs with bandmate Hidalgo, Flaco Jimenez, and a bunch of various other Latin luminaries on Tex-Mex Groove in 2006. Per month after Los Lobos released the acclaimed Gates of Silver in November 2015, Rosas surfaced the next month along with his third single album, Live in the Galaxy — supported by accordionist Jimmy Baca, drummer Aaron Ballesteros, bassist Steve Falomir, and keyboardist John Kito — in the LA label.
