Calvin “Fuzz” Jones

b. 1926, Greenwood, Mississippi, USA. While still a kid, Jones learned to try out violin and in old age moved on towards the acoustic bass as well as the bass electric guitar. For quite some time, he performed in the group support Muddy Waters and following the head’s loss of life he teamed up with Waters’ drummer Willie ‘Big Eye’ Smith in the Legendary Blues Music group. With this group, Jones also added vocals. He also performed as an associate from the Howlin’ Wolf Tribute Music group. With these rings he could be noticed on Telarc Information’ A Salute TOWARDS THE Chicago Blues Experts released in 2000. On all paths on the to begin the three albums that define this CD container set, Jones has been the Legendary Blues Music group. Another traditionally motivated blues music group with which Jones provides played may be the Jelly Move All-Stars, with Arthur Williams (vocals/harmonica), Bob Lohr (piano), Jesse Hoggard (electric guitar), and Sam Carr (drums). Jones in addition has played on many documenting schedules behind leading performers in jazz and blues, including Cassandra Wilson, on her behalf 2002 edition of J.B. Lenoir’s ‘Vietnam Blues’. He also documented with Mississippi Warmth, and can become noticed around the group’s 1993 documenting Right From The Center, performing ‘Ruby Mae’, that was made up by guitarist Billy Flynn for Jones’ wife, Ruby Mae Jones.
