A short-lived task led by Brighton, England-born 12-string guitarist and songwriter Allan Taylor, Cajun Moon created a seamless mixture of Appalachian, Cajun, and Uk folk affects. Although they appeared destined for stardom once they implemented their critically effective self-titled debut with a higher profile tour as starting action for Steeleye Period, they were compelled to disband when Taylor experienced serious throat complications. Taylor acquired previously set up himself as a significant new tone of voice of United kingdom folk music. His 1971 single album, Sometimes, highlighted accompaniment from Fairport Convention’s Dave Mattacks, Dave Pegg, and Dave Swarbrick. Briefly moving to NY the following season, he went into financial issues after documenting his second record, The American Record, with session music artists in Nashville and LA. Returning to Britain, he produced Cajun Moon with fiddler Brian Golbey and key pad participant Jon Gillespie.
