Bob Margolin

With each new album, guitarist, singer, and songwriter “Steady Rollin'” Bob Margolin is constantly on the increase the boundaries of contemporary blues. Margolin, a sideman for Muddy Waters from 1973 to 1980, was created on, may 9, 1949, and elevated in Brookline, MA, became enamored using the recordings of Chuck Berry while still in senior high school and started playing out a couple of years later while going to Boston University or college in the first ’70s. Dealing with a number of Boston-area blues rings and something he known as the Boston Blues Music group, he elected to go after music full-time. In 1973, he became a member of Waters on the highway and in the studio room for seven years, playing celebrations and clubs throughout the U.S., Canada, and European countries with the renowned bluesman, who passed away in 1983. Features of his profession with Waters’ music group included the taping going back Waltz on Thanksgiving Time 1976, and executing at the Light Home for Jimmy Carter in August 1978. In 1980, 2 yrs after obtaining his nickname from a Boston DJ, Margolin started leading a music group under his very own name and do therefore for nine years before documenting his first record for Tom Principato’s Powerhouse label. He afterwards recorded another record for Powerhouse, but both are actually out of print out. He continuing touring before obtaining his second big break in 1993, registering with Bruce Iglauer’s Alligator label, which at that time had harvested by leaps and bounds and acquired secured stable world-wide distribution. Margolin’s albums for Alligator are great recordings that progress the traditional limitations from the music: Down within the Alley (1993), My Blues & My Electric guitar (1995), or more & In (1997). Each is an enjoyable mixture of familiar blues addresses and Margolin’s idiosyncratic, insight-filled, and occasionally funny original music. Keep Me to It implemented in 1999. In 2003 Margolin released All-Star Blues Jam, his initial disk on Telarc Blues, which highlighted former associates of Muddy Waters’ music group: Pinetop Perkins, Carey Bell, and Willie “Big Eye” Smith. The mainly one-man-band work In NEW YORK made an appearance from Steady Rollin’ in 2007.
