Bob French

The son of New Orleans banjo player Albert “Papa” French, drummer/vocalist Bob French is really a journeyman New Orleans musician that has played with a number of artists including New Orleans R&B legends Dave Bartholomew and Adam “Sugarboy” Crawford in addition to rock & roll icon Fats Domino and many more. After his father’s transferring in 1977, French overran the command of his father’s ensemble, the initial Tuxedo Jazz Music group, the longest constantly functioning New Orleans group — founded in 1910 by trumpeter Oscar “Papa” Celestin. After that, French provides led the ensemble in addition to hosted the WWOZ radio plan French Cooking, showcasing the assorted music of New Orleans. He released Marsalis Music Honors Bob French on Marsalis Music/Rounder Information in 2007.
