Blackout Beach was conceived like a part task for prolific Vancouver-based vocalist/songwriter Carey Mercer (Frog Eye, Blue Pine). Originally known as “Bertrand Russell and the united states Golf club” it morphed into its last incarnation following the demise of Blue Pine in 2001. Just like his hyper-literate, frequently doom-laden use Frog Eye, Blackout Seaside forgoes a lot of second option outfit’s freewheeling frenzy to get a denser, even more atmospheric and experimental system. The project’s 1st installment, Light Moves the Putrid Dawn, found its way to 2004 within the Soft Misuse label. It had been adopted in 2008 by Pores and skin of Evil.
