Birdwatchers

Though they achieved some local popularity and issued nearly 20 singles on a number of different brands in the 1960s, Florida group the Birdwatchers under no circumstances broke out nationally, and aren’t actually well represented on anthologies of local/obscure ’60s garage area rock and roll. While they weren’t as well original, they do cut some satisfying pop/rock and roll singles with garage area and blue-eyed spirit tinges. The very best of the was “I’m Gonna Like You Anyhow,” which, like many of their best tracks, drew through the poppier face from the English Invasion as its major influence. The failing from the Birdwatchers’ materials to achieve Compact disc reissue (though a right now difficult to find LP of a few of their stuff made an appearance in 1980) can be unusual, as the group was substantially better than a great many other such ’60s clothes with limited publicity who’ve been honored by compact disk packages.
