Apple Orchard

The Apple Orchard are an indie pop duo, made up of brothers Ryan and Dale Marquez, whose wispy, shambling music, rooted in rings just like the Pastels as well as the Sugargliders, provide a nod to acts just like the Wedding Shop and Pet cats burning. The Marquez brothers documented a monitor, “Wide Awake,” beneath the name the Apple Orchard (the name comes from a music by Bouquet) in 2000; once the monitor made its method onto a Filipino compilation disk, Mutual Admiration Culture, the duo made a decision to keep going using the fledgling indie pop task. The duo became rather prolific — having used a couple of years to generate materials, the Apple Orchard noticed a flurry of compilation disk performances (Dashboard Teddy, Vol. 1, via Dorothy Information; We Are NOT BY YOURSELF, Vol. 6, via Greatest Kept Key; Stamp Collecting (FOR NEWBIES), via Top secret Crush Information) and cassette tape produces (Last Thursday, via Popgun Recordings; Paris Was a Daydream, via Greatest Kept Top secret) in 2003. Even more compilation performances and releases implemented in 2006 and 2007, including a cassette tape on Greatest Kept Top secret (Across Haymarket as well as the Triangle), an individual on Humblebee Recordings (A Concealing Smile), along with a 3″ CD-R, That Content Shine, via Cloudberry Information. The Apple Orchard’s debut full-length, Half-Steps Toward Shiny Skies, premiered over the brothers’ homegrown label, Haymarket Recordings, the next calendar year. A mini-album, Leafy Lanes, arrived on a single label the next calendar year, and another 7″ one, PER MONTH of Spring, implemented this year 2010.
