Albert-Ankrum Project

The Albert-Ankrum Task mixes contemporary jazz using the classic New Orleans sound, producing a trend that is as informed by NY as it may be the Caribbean. Trombonist Jeff Albert and saxophonist/flutist Larry Ankrum supply the task its name. The previous also performs within the Nude Orchestra and Wardell Quezergue’s Big Music group. Furthermore to his music group work, Albert is normally over the faculty on the College or university of New Orleans; he shifted to New Orleans in 1999 after spending many years within the Caribbean and before that his indigenous town, Minneapolis. A flexible musician, Ankrum spent some time working in a number of music group configurations, including R&B and rock and roll, and performs both keyboards and woodwinds in addition to composes. Rounding out the Albert-Ankrum Task are bassist Casandra Ankrum, guitarist Jesse Lewis, and drummer/percussionist Louis Romanos. Lakefront Digital released the group’s self-titled single debut recording in 2002.
