Alan Silva

A consistently solid accompanist and bassist, Alan Silva performed on several recordings through the ’60s and ’70s, dealing with many best groupings and players. He’s a solid soloist, particularly using the bow, and comes with an assertive stylist. Silva researched piano and violin in his youngsters, and later went to the brand new York University of Music. He started playing bass in the first ’60s. Silva teamed with Burton Greene within the Totally free Form Improvisation Outfit, and participated within the Oct Trend in Jazz concert series. He used Cecil Taylor, Sunlight Ra, Albert Ayler, Sunny Murray, and Archie Shepp in the past due ’60s and early ’70s, before settling in European countries. Silva created the Celestrial Conversation Orchestra, an organization with rotating staff, and also used Frank Wright, Bobby Few, and Muhammad Ali (drums). He resided and worked both in Paris and NY through the ’70s and ’80s, playing and documenting with Taylor, Expenses Dixon, Andrew Hill, and the world Unity Orchestra. He documented as a innovator for BYG and Sunlight. Silva does not have any sessions available like a innovator, but could be noticed on Taylor and Ayler Compact disc reissues.
