Brick + Mortar

Having a punishing mixture of punk-infused drum’n’bass and hook-driven electro-rock, Asbury Park, New Jersey’s Brick + Mortar was created across the talents of longtime friends Brandon Asraf (bass guitar, vocals) and John Tacon (drums, electronic samples, vocals). Originally devised being a drum’n’bass improvisational task, the duo ultimately began tinkering with digital examples and incorporating even more traditional pop framework into their materials, and by 2010 got earned the popularity among the region’s most thrilling live acts, sketching comparisons to rings like Envision Dragons, Sleigh Bells, and Jimmy Eat Globe. The duo’s debut EP for Isle/Def Jam/Image Finish, Bangs, premiered in 2013 and their main label full-length Public Studies came a year afterwards.
