Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalists Craig Gordon and David “Letdown” Bolt initial teamed up in the past due ‘90s being a left-field hip-hop duo. Their music steadily progressed into an atmospheric, introspective mix of notebook electronica and Bolt’s split keyboards, overlaid with Gordon’s dreamy shoegazer-style electric guitar and Interpol-esque vocals. Christening themselves the Delta Reflection, Gordon and Bolt ultimately added bassist Karrie K. and agreed upon using the Lefse label. Issued in early 2010, their debut record, Machines That Pay attention, was an idea record which each tune was occur different rooms of the fictional hospital.
