Jazz-rock ensemble F-5 took their name from a classification program for tornadoes (F-5 getting the most effective and lethal). Associates consist of keyboardist Tommy Stephenson, guitarist Michael Reese, bassist Stan Sheldon, and drummer Alex Velasquez; their various other performing credits consist of, variously, Joe Walsh, the Eagles, Tommy Bolin, Peter Frampton, and Keith Emerson. F-5’s debut record, Dodging the Wish Killers, premiered in 1998.
