Speer

Austin, TX-based pop/rock and roll clothing Speer are mainly the task of their namesake and vocalist/songwriter, Wayne Speer. Citing impact from famous brands Peter Gabriel, Coldplay, and Dave Matthews, Speer enjoy melodic and passionate piano-driven rock and roll music that evoke visions of additional vocalist/songwriters like Ben Folds, John Mayer, and Marc Cohn. Shifting to Austin around 1992, pianist frontman Wayne performed as time passes with various regional favorites, including Bob Schneider, the Scabs, Monte Montgomery, Overlord, and Vallejo, aswell as providing as the home piano guy at the neighborhood comedy theatre, Esther’s Follies. He started the 1st incarnation from the music group Speer circa 1997, experimenting town for a couple of years before regrouping with a fresh set of music artists, in order to grow from what he regarded as the band’s complete potential. Getting into the studio room in 2002 to begin with documenting their debut full-length, Speer collaborated with longtime Austin maker Carl Theil. Sixes & Sevens made an appearance in middle-2003 and presented a backing music group of guitarists Scott Clark and Mike Ingalls, drummer Chris Leonard, and bassist Mike Cullen. Speer performed the CMJ Event in N.Con.C. that fall, aswell as carrying out well-received showcases at Austin’s personal South by Southwest in 2004 and 2006.
