Balkan Rhythm Band

A mid-’80s group that made one album for Soaring Seafood in 1984 titled The Jazziest Balkan Dance Music group Around. They combined traditional jazz instrumentation with harmonica, mandolin and nontraditional things such as the darabuka, kaval, and roto-toms. They performed both Balkan materials and jazz requirements like “A Night time in Tunisia.”
