The Micragirls

Gritty, gusty, and kitschy as almost all get away, Finland’s Micragirls emerged in the first aughts with a small number of indie pop singles that gave a nod to Helen Like and Betty & the Werewolves (not forgetting the bands presented about garage rock compilations like Given birth to Bad and Back again through the Grave, both which the Micragirls cited as big influences). Lead vocalist and guitarist Mari, key pad participant Kata, and drummer Risu teamed up to create the Micragirls in 2001, and their debut 7″ solitary, Are You Insane, premiered on Music for folks the following yr. A small number of 7″ singles (2003’s Mindtwistin’ Weekend using the Micragirls, 2004’s Primitive Homeorgan Blast, 2006’s Sense Dizzy, Honey) and a two-disc compilation (Sense Dizzy, Honey!?, released on Bone tissue Voyage Recordings in 2006) arrived during the period of another four years. The second option went on to become repackaged as an LP and premiered via Peachy Doll Information (2007) and Bone tissue Voyage (2008). Another solitary, the Rock and roll ‘n’ Move Rocket/Haunted Center 7″, premiered on Bone tissue Voyage in 2008, before the release from the Micragirls’ sophomore full-length recording, Wild Woman Walk, the next year.
