Mixing dreamy, atmospheric sound pop with Brian Wilson-style psychedelia, Magic Fortress shaped in 2005 as the single project of CONSIDER Life’s Graham Van Pelt. He self-released Magic Fortress’ initial EP, Watery Grave, that calendar year, and continued release a his debut full-length, Five Roses, 2 yrs afterwards. Adam Waito (Telefauna), Jessie Stein (SS Cardiac), and Jordan Robson-Cramer curved out the lineup for the project’s live present. With the completely constituted ensemble in tow, Truck Pelt and Magic Fortress released the shoegaze-influenced Was I the Wave? in 2011.
