With success that may half be related to hustle, half to divine treatment, the Rondelles hit the bottom running before these were balance out of senior high school. While these were still self-booking displays in tiny night clubs and playing in fight of the rings, the Rondelles got several record offers and opening slot machines for indie giants like Sleater-Kinney and Sonic Youngsters. That touring helped bandmembers Yukiko Moynihan (bass, vocals), Juliet Swango (acoustic guitar, vocals), and Oakley Munsen (drums, keyboards, vocals) hone their audio, which features jangly punk-pop with suggestions of browse music — controlling to be at exactly the same time both edgy and pretty. Their initial full-length Compact disc, Fiction Love Fast Machines, premiered in 1998 by Sonic Youngsters drummer Steve Shelley’s HAS THE AROMA OF Information; a 7″ released by K Information, Revenge, and an appearance on the Rhino compilation, ’90s Teenager Rings Vs. ’80s Teenager Films, the same season helped spread the term about this youthful band.
