After leaving Move Dog Move, singer/guitarist Eric Beetner and drummer Tim Christopher formed Build Your Own Monster, a band that drew even more seriously from Dischord/Fugazi-style D.C. hardcore and indie rock and roll. Bassist Annie Chang finished the lineup, which also used periodic keyboards, saxophone, examples, and acoustic guitars. Build Your Personal Monster released their debut recording, Giant-Sized Wonderment, in the summertime of 2000.
