Yung Wu

Yung Wu was a past due 80s offshoot task of US music group the Feelies. On 1987’s Shoreline Keep, the mid-period line-up from the Feelies’ (co-founders Glenn Mercer and Expenses Mil, percussionist Dave Weckerman, bass participant Brenda Sauter, and drummer Stanley Demeski) had been joined by key pad participant John Baumgartner, an associate from the Feelies’ part task the Trypes. Weckerman turned from percussion to sing business lead vocals in Yung Wu. Shoreline Leave experienced a pastoral audio, with acoustic guitars and brushed drumming. The arranged provided a fascinating contrast towards the Feelies’ edgy angst, though it was somewhat undermined by worthwhile, but unexciting, cover variations of tunes by Neil Youthful, the Rolling Rocks and Brian Eno. Mercer, Demeski, Weckerman and Baumgartner reunited on 9 Dec 2001 as an starting take action for Yo La Tengo.
