Will Hoge

Given birth to and raised in Tennessee, songwriter Can Hoge produced his name honing a mixture of soulful Americana and heartland rock and roll & move. After spending his youth within the Nashville suburb of Franklin, he still left Tennessee to review history at American Kentucky School. Music drew him back, nevertheless, and he relocated to Nashville to put together a music group that included previous Georgia Satellites guitarist Dan Baird. Hoge after that cut his tooth in the Southern club circuit and released a live discharge, 1999’s FOREVER Long, before inking a cope with Atlantic Information. Using the label’s support, he inserted Memphis’ famed Ardent Studios to record his public debut, Carousel, with engineer John Hampton (the Substitutes, Gin Blossoms). The record premiered in 2000, and Blackbird on the Lonely Wire implemented in 2003 (albeit without Baird, who’d still left because of the band’s challenging tour timetable). Record product sales were slender, though, and Hoge discovered himself getting minimal interest from his label. Asking for discharge from his agreement, Hoge was produced a free of charge agent. Pursuing his departure in the Atlantic roster, Hoge mixed a relentless tour timetable using a string of indie produces, from live albums and short EPs to some full-fledged studio work (2006’s THE PERSON Who Killed Appreciate). Rykodisc had taken be aware of Hoge’s function, especially his 200-plus displays each year, and agreed upon the artist. He and co-writer Eric Paslay received 2012 Academy of Nation Music (ACM), Nation Music Association (CMA) and Grammy nominations for Greatest Country Track for “EVEN THOUGH It Breaks Your Center,” the starting track in the Eli Youthful Band’s album Lifestyle at Greatest. In Dec of 2012, Hoge released the digital-only EP Contemporary American Protest Music, including the music “Folded Flag” and “Ballad of Trayvon Martin.” In Oct of 2013, Hardly ever SURRENDER, his 8th full-length, premiered by, Cumberland Recordings. The album’s initial single, “Solid,” was tapped by Chevy because of its 2014 Silverado pickup ad campaign.
