Having already incorporated Indian music with Blancmange’s new wave grooves, keyboardist Stephen Luscombe delved involved with it further using the Western India Company. Alongside Vince Clarke (synthesizers) of Depeche Setting and Yaz, Mute Information founder and maker Daniel Miller, vocalist Asha Bhosle, and percussionist Pandit Dinesh (who got previously caused Luscombe in Blancmange), the Western India Business released the solitary “Ava Maria” in 1984. Much like Blancmange, the Western India Company mixed keyboard-heavy golf club rhythms with Indian instrumentation.
