Vincenzo Righini

Like a singing instructor and conductor Righini excelled. His compositions demonstrate an enthusiastic awareness of the capability and limitations from the human being voice. Becoming a member of an opera troupe from Prague in 1776 Righini made up his first three operas including “Il convitato di pietra” (1776). This is not only effective nonetheless it was performed in Vienna and Eszterhaza, due to Haydn, and, performed in both German and Italian. Emperor Joseph II summoned him to Vienna to immediate the Italian Opera also to educate performing. This he do for another eight years, 1780-87, where time he published a couple of gorgeous solfeges entitled “Exercices put se perfectionner dans l’art du chant” (Exercises for the excellence from the artwork of performing). Appointed as the 1st Italian Courtroom Kapellmeister in Mainz, 1787-1793, Righini made up “Azione teatrale Alcide al bivio” and on the event from the coronation of Leopold II a “Missa solemnis.” Qualitatively this mass was impassioned with personality, technique and compound. In 1811 Righini became the Kapellmeister from the Royal Theatre in Mainz. During his existence Righini made up sixteen operas, that included dramatic ballets; he published music with profound feeling for both tone of voice and orchestra merging Italian feelings, color and authenticity with German technique and technique. Compositions by Righini also included sacred tunes, cantatas, tunes and piano music.
